Join an emotional journey diving into indigo. Next week, Monday 20 at 6PM, come to visit the BLUEMOTION Exhibition at Rudolf Hub 1922 and discover all the shades of indigo, from the oldest pieces from 1900s to the contemporary interpretation of professionals. We will present our BLU’N ME outfit called RISE BLUE, a reinterpretation of Traditional Japanese Kimono and Hakama design: it will surprise you!
RISE BLUE: From Japanese tradition to contemporary comfort
The traditional Japanese hakama and kimono are made with natural indigo dye and degrade spontaneously with use following the habits of the body. The hakama is a wide skirt-trousers, traditionally featuring seven folds, which symbolize the virtues of the samurai. The strength of the Kimono is in the essential T shape, for efficient use of the indigo fabric.
The BLU’N ME brand reinterprets the hakama in a current and feminine way with an ultra-light indigo yarn-dyed fabric, modifying the closure and pleats and adding deep pockets that blend into the fluidity of the fabric, giving comfort and extreme elegance. The kimono becomes a shirt with lace closure to adapt to the body and an overcoat made of indigo quilted fabric, recalling traditional Japanese fabrics. The outfit is completed with the Italian selvedge denim bag, with laser engravings of Japanese carp.
